Peter Broderick is a multi-instrumentalist who grew up in the state of Oregon (USA). At age seven his first instrument was the fiddle/violin, with a training that combined both classical and traditional folk music. As a teenager he began collecting musical instruments, becoming proficient on guitar and piano, and dabbling with fringe instruments like the musical saw. His eclectic work spans from singer-songwriter, to contemporary classical, experiments with traditional music from various parts of the globe, and countless collaborations with other musicians, artists and filmmakers. He aims to actively cultivate an open sense of wonder towards music and sound, and is always looking for new musical avenues to explore. Since moving to Ireland in 2016 he has become embedded within the vibrant contemporary Irish musical landscape, with performances at some of the country's most beloved festivals like Body & Soul and Another Love Story. His most recent collaborations include a project with French group Ensemble 0 in which they perform the music of Arthur Russell with a 12-piece orchestra, and recording strings for the latest Villagers album.
