Idiofòna is an attempt to make light of toughness, to find harmony amidst noise and to build a common vibration. It is an ode to shared pleasure.
An original, joyous and inventive new work of street theatre by award winning Catalan street theatre creator, Joan Català.
Idiofòna centres on the use of 30 iron tubes. Joán Catala works with these tubes to engage the audience in a series of playful exercises which eventually leads to the audience running together ‘into the future’. Here the audience jointly create a giant visual sound installation, setting the scene for a conversation between man and matter.
This is a perambulatory piece of street theatre which engages audiences in a very playful way; Idiofòna breaks down barriers and offers an opportunity to co-create a highly memorable, entertaining experience and be a part of something which is thoughtful, intelligent and fun.
Cairde is delighted to work with Hazelwood House this year, providing the perfect setting for this unique and utterly engaging work. Audiences are in for a real treat.
