This concert showcases the ongoing collaboration between GreenBirdFlying and Mary Branley. GreenBirdFlying is an alt-folk trio whose melodic and ornate songs have roots in poetry from far and wide.

Their ornate and epic sound has been described as ‘The Unthanks ‘ meets ‘Einaudi’. They are currently collaborating with Sligo poet Mary Branley, providing soundscapes to her poems and using them to make new songs.

This show features original songs and spoken word centered around her poetry, performed by Mary and GreenBirdFlying. The trio are Cliodhna Quinlan on fiddles and vocals with Mark Murphy on piano, guitar, mandolin and lead vocalist Mandi Frankham.

Their latest  collaboration is the single ‘Sweeping’. It's a beautifully melodic song that began as a poem by Mary about the work of Maria Reiche in Peru who uncovered the Nazca lines in the desert by the simple act of sweeping.
