Join writers Dani Gill and Alice Kinsella as they discuss maternal lineage and female identity in Ireland referencing their recent works: Lessons in Kindness and Milk.
Lessons in Kindness is a collection exploring identity, sexuality, strength and vulnerability. Through a series of losses and epiphanies, a young woman attempts to make sense of the lessons taught and learned. From the recent referenda in Ireland, to a landscape of women ghosts, Lessons in Kindness is a search for meaning and love, set against the backdrop of the wild Atlantic coast.

Set against the backdrop of a seemingly changed Ireland, in Milk Alice draws for us her own map of motherhood. Intimate, warm, startlingly vivid and gentle, this is at once a delicate reflection on a moment of gigantic change in body and mind and a powerful, often painful confrontation of the politics of a country so deeply unsure about its women.
