Cairde Young Curators (CYC) are a panel of young people engaged in programming an aspect of Cairde Sligo Arts Festival Programme. CYC 2021 are Caoimhe Davidson, Evelyn Davidson, Megan Oldham & Odhrán Smyth. They have been working with visual artist Andy Parsons and theatre artist Sinéad Sexton.

They have been exploring the area of folklore, myth and legend and how that resonates in the modern world. Earlier this year, they put a call out for submissions of artworks across any medium which take an aspect of folklore as their inspiration point.
CYC share the results of that open call with selected artists:
Visual artist Maria Noonan- McDermott; Poet LaurenO’Donovan and Makeup Artist Amelia Burke.
