Two of Ireland’s leading guitarists bridge the gap between flamenco and Spanish classical music in a treat for music lovers and guitarists alike.

John Walsh is a master of the flamenco guitar and has been embraced at the heart of its culture in Spain performing in some of the most historically important flamenco venue’s such as ‘Flamenco Candela’ in Madrid, as well as being the invited International Artist for the 2014 for the 2014 Flamenco Consuega. He has composed music for and performed with the National Ballet of Ireland, Bill Whelan’s Riverdance & Michael Rooney’s De Cuellar Orchestra among others.

Redmond O’Toole is recognised as one of the most distinctive and original guitarists of his generation.  He is praised internationally for his classical recitals on his 8-string guitar, performs regularly as orchestral soloist and has held residencies at the National Concert Hall and National Opera House. He was the first to adopt Paul Galbraith’s ‘Brahms guitar’. This ground breaking instrument and technique uses an 8-string guitar in the position of a cello.

Both Walsh and O’Toole will perform some of the very best of their respective repertoires before coming together in an original and unique duo that is full of communication, duende and a few laughs along the way.

O’Toole and Walsh gave their duo debut at the National Concert Hall last October to critical acclaim.
